Daniels (City Univ. of New York) focuses on manifestations of white supremacy and, to a lesser degree, gender disparity on the Internet. She is especially interested in offering a preliminary analysis of how the discourse of the white supremacist movement has been translated from print into the digital era. Recommended. (CHOICE)
[Daniels] raises real issues about free speech and community life, particularly as the United States seems to uphold markedly different values from much of the rest of the world. This has implications for post-colonial worldviews and theologies.
Daniels, a frequent contributor to literature about white supremacy in the United States, focuses on the utility of the internet to spread racialized (and other) hate speech, arguing that newer media are not immune to the social constructs of American life. In fact, Daniels argues that the ability to “cloak” hate language on the internet increases opportunities to draw unsuspecting young people into the orbit of racist, anti-Semitic, and homophobic world views.

About the Author
Jessie Daniels teaches at Hunter College and writes and teaches about racism and anti-racism in print and online. She is the author of White Lies (Routledge). Very Interesting!

This is a book which discusses how new technologies are being used by racist groups in order to spread racism and white supremacist ideas online. The author focuses on the assumptions behind white supremacist ideas, and highlights their gender and racist undertones. She believes that these groups are trying to create a form of transnational white identity. She also highlights the ways in which women have changed the ideologies of white racist groups (especially on the topic of abortion) by adopting a version of liberal feminist ideas about a woman's right to her body - though some still are virulently anti-abortion. One chapter focuses on the Neo-Nazi group Stormfront, which is the biggest white supremacist group on the web. The author also highlights the ways their ideologies have changed since they moved into the internet - for instance, using 'cloaked' websites... which basically means they pretend to be providing simple facts about civil rights, and so forth... but they are actually peddling bias and racist messages. I haven't seen a book like this before - it seemed really ground breaking to me, to highlight the importance of new forms of racism online.

White guilt prevails. Stop the anti-white hate.

Well whats there to say about a theme that already been written and rewritten a thousand times now, white-guilt prevails it would seem.
Instead of respecting why whites on the internet believe what their saying the author just assumes that racism by whites is the only form of discrimination that exists. Tell that to the white South Africans, whom according to Gregory H. Stanton, the head of genocide watch, are being ethnically-cleansed from their homelands.
This new generation of "cyber haters" have every reason to be frightened and confused. Too damn bad if you cant respect that without charging viscious attacks at these people because you had to have respected the fact that they believe what they are saying.
I would recommend people reading a book title 'Negrophilia' (it's actually written by a black man for all you strange guilty white liberals)
Another rare find is 'into the canibals pot' by Ilana Mercer (a book that, unlike this one, was very difficult to have published)
