OK, but not accurate

This book is a great read. I had it for a textbook and it was well-organized.
The problem I found was that some of the pop culture facts were not accurate. In a book about pop culture!! For example, the writer makes a reference to an episode of "Roseanne". She claims the episode was controversial because Roseanne's sister kissed a woman. NOT true. Roseanne was actually the one who kissed a woman! This seems stupid to complain about but when it happened, i remember it was a huge controversy for television and conservatives. What if I wanted to mention that in a paper? Or elaborate on it? My facts would have been incorrect.
There were a couple more like that and some dates, also. Why write a book if the facts are wrong? Dumb.

Not bad for a required read....

I had to buy this book for a college course and it was actually quite interesting. Information was up to date, talked about recent events, related things to 9/11 and how other parts of the world see America. It wasn't one of those books that puts you to sleep in the wee hours of the night like many other required reads do.
